The S55 makes serious heat, and the factory engine oil cooler is usually the first part of the cooling system to fall behind. After a few years the OEM core clogs and bends, oil temps climb, and the car starts pulling timing to protect itself. This CSF cooler replaces that unit with a much more capable bar and plate core, CAB brazed and turbulated with a high density louvered fin pack, so it moves more heat and shrugs off road debris and age far better than the part it replaces.
It is engineered for the S55 powered F8X cars, which covers the F80 M3, the F82 and F83 M4, and the F87 M2 Competition. The cooler is a true drop in fit: it mounts in the factory location, uses the OEM oil line connections, and needs no cutting or adapters. CSF includes a rock guard up front to shield the core from stones and track debris, which is exactly where the stock cooler tends to take damage.
If you track the car, run it hard in the heat, or just want to keep oil temps in check on a high mileage S55, this is a clean factory location upgrade that buys back cooling capacity the OEM part loses over time. Finished in black with no branding clutter, it looks stock once installed and works a lot harder than what came off.
