Understanding Carbon Fiber: Wet vs. Dry

Carbon fiber components are produced using either wet carbon or dry carbon manufacturing techniques. Dry carbon is widely regarded as superior due to its higher strength-to-weight ratio, making it both lighter and stronger than wet carbon. This is achieved through a specialized manufacturing process that utilizes vacuum pressure and heat to remove excess resin, resulting in a more uniform and consistent product.

While dry carbon is more costly, it offers exceptional durability and performance, making it a worthwhile investment for those seeking the highest quality. Importantly, the manufacturing process does not affect the glossy finish, ensuring compatibility with other 2x2 wet carbon fiber components.

Important Notes

  • Disclaimer: Small amounts of visible paint may appear along the back edge of the splitters. This is a common occurrence, even with OEM M Performance counterparts. To achieve a seamless appearance, we recommend applying wrap or black adhesive tape along the back edge.
  • These splitters are only compatible with our front lips, except for the Performance V1 lip, which includes its own splitters. Please verify fitment before purchase.
  • Non-OEM Product: This is an aftermarket component and is not an official BMW product.
