The Gen 2 B58 responds hard to boost, and the factory charge cooler is what caps it. This is CSF's Super Manifold, developed with VF Engineering and Custom Plenum Creations, and it replaces the OEM manifold and heat exchanger core as one billet aluminum unit. Inside is a motorsports grade bar and plate air to water core with 12 rows of cooling against the factory's 6, so charge cooling capacity is effectively doubled.
Testing showed roughly 30 degrees F lower intake air temps than stock, and on a modified car making around 400 horsepower the swap alone was worth about 26 wheel horsepower and 11 wheel torque. The real gain shows up on repeat pulls and hot days, where the factory setup heat soaks and the tune starts pulling timing while this one holds temps.
It is built for people who are not done modifying. Each runner has a pre plugged port injection bung and integrated nitrous or methanol distribution ports, and there are three 1/8 inch NPT sensor ports for data logging. Access to the oil filter housing stays open. The kit includes the billet manifold, an extruded fuel rail with 8 AN fittings, six anodized injector hats for short height injectors, a 28 piece hardware kit, plugs for unused ports, and printed instructions. It uses your OEM water pump and heat exchanger, so there is nothing else to buy on the cooling side.
Before ordering, confirm your engine generation. This manifold fits the Gen 2 B58 only, which generally means 2019 and newer depending on chassis, and it will not fit a Gen 1 car. As one example, a 2020 or newer G30 540i fits while a 2018 or 2019 does not. If you are unsure, send us your VIN and we will confirm before the order goes out. Mild hybrid cars with the 48V system require minor modification to the alternator. No tune is required to run the manifold on its own, but if you are using the port injection setup you will need injectors, which are not included, and a tune to run them. CSF recommends Injector Dynamics 1050.34.14.14.6.
Raw billet ships as the standard finish. Custom and thermal black finishes are built to order and typically run 3 to 4 weeks.
