The M2 heats its transmission fluid faster than most owners expect, and once temps climb the DCT softens shifts and the car stops behaving the way it did on lap one. The factory cooler is a single pass six tube unit sized for normal street use. This CSF replacement runs a dual pass core with 10 cooling tubes, which lab tested at roughly 30 percent more efficient than the OEM piece.
The core is aluminum with 26mm multi channel microtube construction and a high density multi louvered fin pitch, so it pulls more heat out of the fluid without choking flow. The dual pass routing keeps the fluid in the airflow twice as long per circuit, which is what keeps temps flat during repeat hard pulls instead of stair stepping upward. Housing is finished in black.
Fitment is the part to get right. This is for the 2015 to 2018 F87 M2 with the N55 engine and the DCT gearbox. Manual cars do not use this cooler, and the M2 Competition with the S55 is a different part, so confirm your engine and transmission before ordering. Installation is a true drop in that reuses every OEM attachment point, including the factory oil line quick connects, mounting brackets, and shroud and ducting. No modification, no additional hardware, and no tune.
