The S58 is not short on power, it is short on cooling. The factory plastic manifold and tube and fin core start losing the plot around 30 to 35 PSI and heat soak hard after a few pulls, which is why a tuned G80 or G82 feels strong on the first run and flat on the third. CSF built this one with PWR to remove that ceiling entirely. It is a 100 percent TIG welded billet aluminum manifold with no gaskets in the plenum, wrapped around a bar and plate air to water core rated to 120 PSI.
The numbers back it up. Core volume is 23.6 percent larger than OEM, with 48 air rows and 49 water rows against the factory 27 and 28, and fin thickness down to 0.08mm, roughly half of a conventional bar and plate core, so you get far more surface area without the flow penalty. Pressure drop actually falls to 1.10 PSI from the OEM 1.22. Across 8 consecutive full throttle pulls, post cooler intake air temps rose only 21.2 degrees F. Independent dyno testing by MotoIQ at GTP Motorsports on a G82 M4 showed 20.6 wheel horsepower and 20.4 lb ft, with charge temps averaging 61.85 degrees F cooler, and the core held up past 45 PSI where the factory unit gives up.
The B version adds a Cerakote thermal dispersion black coating, which is not just cosmetic. It actively sheds heat from the manifold surface rather than trapping it, and it pairs with the included KIYLEX thermal rejection spacer, a patented polymer rated to 1,100 degrees F that isolates the manifold from cylinder head heat and is good for roughly another 15 percent reduction in intake air temps. Unlike phenolic spacers it is self sealing, so there are no extra gaskets or O rings to fail.
This is a platform for a build, not just a cooler. There are individual 1/8 inch NPT bungs on the underside of every runner for nitrous or methanol, a machined 3 port vacuum and sensor pad on the plenum, and a complete port injection kit with an extruded aluminum fuel rail, 7mm aperture per cylinder, and an 8 AN fitting that works feed only or with a return setup. Cores are hand built by PWR at their tier 1 facility in Indianapolis, pressure tested to 80 PSI twice during assembly, and every threaded port is inspected individually.
Fits the 2021 to 2025 G80 M3 and G82 and G83 M4 in every variant including Competition, xDrive, CS, and CSL, the 2023 and newer G87 M2, and the F97 X3M and F98 X4M with the included block off bung. Both 6MT and ZF8 cars are covered. Replaces OEM part numbers 17 51 8 092 584 and 17 51 8 053 321. Installation is plug and play with factory O rings and mounting points, no cutting or modification, and the kit includes the KIYLEX spacer, fuel rail, harness bracket, all hardware, unused port plugs, bleeder valve, and instructions.
Two things to plan for. Injectors are not included since sizing depends on your build, and CSF recommends Injector Dynamics 1050.34.14.14.6 in a set of six. A tune is required to realize the gains, and mandatory if you are running the port injection. Thermal dispersion black is a coated finish built to order with a typical 3 to 4 week lead time. Backed by CSF's 2 year warranty.
